Some of these provide useful information related to manufacturing. We have perused them and tried to determine any practical value beyond the standard propaganda for government. Links to regulatory agencies are down at the bottom of this page.
NIST (National Institute for Standards and Technology): Formerly the National Bureau of Standards. One of the few federal sites with anything beyond propaganda.
NASA Tech Briefs: Mostly technical studies geared to the sort of stuff NASA does.
SBIR (Small Business Program): Opportunities to get a government subsidy for starting your business or conducting its research.

Tenn. State Govt.-Assistance to Business: Links to information about state regulations pertaining to business/industry and some help with starting a business. There's a guide for starting your business and staying out of trouble with the state.
Tennessee Small Business Centers: Classes and consulting about starting a business in Tennessee. A service of the Tenn. Board of Regents.
Nashville Business Incubation Center: Run by TSU's accredited College of Business.
US Patent and Trademark Office: You may be able to find patents of interest to your business here.
Center for Manufacturing Research (Tenn. Tech Univ.): Provides assistance to industries, through contracts, in advanced technologies.
Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center: Assistance to manufacturers in Texas. See what's available in another state.
