Lee Severy Scholarship

P.L. "Lee" Severy

1917 – 2005

Lee Severy was born in Hollywood, CA and was a graduate of the University of Southern California. He and his wife, Sally Severy, moved to Nashville in 1941 where he worked for Vultee Aircraft, Inc. Over 45 years ago, he founded the P.L. Severy Company, an international manufacturing and industrial distribution firm.

Lee Severy was SME Chairman in 1957. Lee started the Lee Severy Scholarship Program in 1987, and it has funded Ninety Three (93) scholarships to date. Lee was always a special person that wanted everyone to enjoy life. All of Lee’s personal and business dealings were always a win-win for all. He had a strong love for his family, friends and life. We will miss the wit and humor that he brought to each of us.
